TATA IPL 2025 Player retentions list announced

The player retention phase for the 2025 TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) season concluded on October 31, 2024. All ten teams finalized their core squads, retaining a total of 46 players with a combined expenditure of INR 558.5 crore. Each franchise has a salary cap of INR 120 crore for the mega auction, allowing them to assemble a squad of 25 players. Teams could retain up to six players, including a maximum of five capped international players and two uncapped Indian players.
Kolkata Knight Riders, the defending champions, and Rajasthan Royals, the champions of the inaugural season, have opted to retain six players each. Five other teams—Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad—have chosen to retain five players. Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings retained four, three, and two players, respectively.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) enter the upcoming mega auction with the largest remaining budget of INR 110.5 crore, setting the stage for an exciting auction event.
